Radon is a “Class A” carcinogen like arsenic and asbestos. It is the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers, and 12-13% of all lung cancers are linked to radon.

Radon causes 15,000-22,000 lung cancer deaths per year, and the EPA recommends testing for homeowners. Maine has high levels of radon statewide and it is important to test to see if mitigation is necessary.

Low-level charcoal canister testing can be easily manipulated and do not take into account weather conditions and barometric pressure. Charcoal canisters must be mailed away for testing and take an additional 3-7 days to receive results.

I will be using top of the line continuous radon monitors that test continuously every hour for 48 hours and take into account barometric pressure and also include tampering sensors. Your lab certified test data will be available to you within 24 hours of me retrieving the monitor.
